Overview

As part of the ongoing fundraising efforts for the Ummah Center Masjid and Community Centre, a special Charity Walk was held on 20 July 2024 in the beautiful surroundings of Bakewell, Derbyshire Dales.

The event was organised by Seyam Malik and Abdul Basir Rasooly, with valuable support from Atiq Nizami, who led the walk and guided participants throughout the route. Their dedication, planning, and commitment helped make the event both successful and memorable.

Fundraising Results

Community Support

The Charity Walk brought together 16 dedicated participants who completed the journey in support of the Ummah Center. Through their efforts, together with the generosity of more than 50 sponsors and supporters, the event successfully raised £3,200.00.

In addition to the sponsorship campaign, a successful collection was held at Ressala Masjid, Sheffield, where members of the community demonstrated tremendous generosity in support of the project.

Impact

This Charity Walk was more than simply a fundraising event. It reflected the values of unity, compassion, perseverance, and community spirit that are central to the Ummah Center's vision.

Every step walked, every sponsorship pledged, and every donation received helped bring the goal of establishing a permanent place of worship and community hub closer to reality. The funds raised will contribute towards creating a lasting centre that will serve the community through worship, education, youth activities, and charitable programmes for generations to come.
