The project story

Executive Summary

During 2023, the Ummah Center received donations from mosques, community centres, organisations, and supporters across the UK towards the purchase of a permanent building for the Ummah Center Masjid and Community Centre.

A total of £17,900 was raised through this fundraising effort. Assuming all donations are eligible for Gift Aid, an additional £4,475 can be reclaimed from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), bringing the total value of the contributions to £22,375.

Purpose of the Donations

These funds were raised towards the acquisition and development of a permanent facility for the Ummah Center Masjid. The building will serve as a charitable community asset dedicated to:

  1. The advancement of Islam and Islamic education.
  2. Providing facilities for daily and congregational worship.
  3. Hosting religious gatherings and Islamic celebrations, including Eid events and community programmes.
  4. Delivering educational activities for children, young people and adults.
  5. Supporting social welfare, community cohesion and charitable activities.
  6. Providing a safe and welcoming environment for families and individuals.
  7. Promoting spiritual, educational and community development in accordance with the objectives of the Ummah Center.

Impact of Gift Aid

Gift Aid enables charities to reclaim an additional 25p for every £1 donated by eligible UK taxpayers.

For this fundraising campaign:

  1. Funds raised: £17,900

This additional funding significantly strengthens the Ummah Center's ability to establish a permanent place of worship and community hub for current and future generations.
